Alex and Lyuba picked us up at 9:00am at the Azimut Hotel in Stavropol. We went straight down to the village of Rosovka, Orphanage Mixed type No. 2 "Golden Key". Glorious sunny day in this small village.
We tried to spend the entire day outside, playing soccer or taking walks. Got to stay until about 2:00pm.
The weather was really nice, and we got to spend most of our day outdoors. We brought soccer balls and played with them for a while. We also took a couple walks and the kids took lots of pictures with the camera.Anya is Fearless! |

On the drive home, we ended driving though a herd of cows that had wondered into the road. It took a bit to weave our way through them.
When we got back to the hotel, we wandered down to the grocery store, (by ourselves) and managed to purchase some items, without too much trouble. Felt kind of empowering to make our way though a store where things are different from what we are used to, and to find the things that we needed.
Later we walked through the square across from our hotel. There was a large group of students dancing in the square. It was quite fun to watch.
Later we ate at the Pot of Chicken, as we've started calling it, where we could pick up relatively inexpensive Western Food. Deep friend mashed potato balls with sour cream in the middle. Yum Yum.
We had an early night as tomorrow is Dr. Day. We have to see like 8 different doctors in 8 different clinics. Can't really say as I'm looking forward to this part of the trip.
That is wonderful news Dave & Lynne...So happy for you all.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet the family when you return, we will have to make it a weekend at the cabin.
Take Care.
Love,
