Court Rehearsal Day in Stavropol



Thousands of tulips are blooming in the parks.

 Easy schedule today. Downstairs to the Russian breakfast buffet at 9:00am
(We are in the same time zone as Moscow, for those keeping score at home.)

We get to meet our attorney today at 1:00pm
Then a dress rehearsal in court before the judge at 2:00pm.

Dave is off to get a haircut at 10:00am in hopes of looking presentable to the Judge.
All of this in preparation for the formal court date tomorrow.

Well, we met with the judge. It was more like a very intense interview.   She asked us a lot of questions around adoption and why Russia.  There is a strict law around not taking any pictures of the court house either inside or out.   It was a very nice building with a lot of marble.

Along with us and the judge were our attorney - Margaretta and our interpreteur - Vladimer.   We were very happy to have both of them along.  As well there was a social worker from the orphanage.   Tommorrow is said to be very similar, only many more people will be in the room.   I had not expected to be quite so nervous.

The whole process was about 2 hours.

After, Dave and I took a nice long walk through the city.   We found a little amusement park that had some rides, and games, and a little pond with two swans swimming.





For dinner we had pepponi pizza - outdoors on the 2nd floor hotel patio- as the weather was quite lovely this afternoon.

We should find out the judge's answer tomorrow.  Then we have a 10 day wait period before the final agreement is made.

The big question is: What do Dave and Lynne do for 10 days with limited funds and no working grasp of

the language?



Off to the Caucauses? Chechnya is right next door. Not exactly in the tourist brochures.
